Gas Safety Week is a national safety campaign to raise awareness of gas safety in the UK's 23 million gas fuelled homes. It is co-ordinated by Gas Safe Register with support from the gas industry including retailers, manufacturers, consumer bodies and the public. Gas Safety Week 2014 will take place 15th-21st September 2014, with national advertising, media coverage and events throughout the week. Gas safety messages will reach far and wide right at the start of heating season.

Badly fitted and poorly serviced gas cookers, fires and boilers can put you at risk from carbon monoxide poisoning, gas leaks, fires and explosions. Just like you get your car MOT every year, you should have your home gas safety checked every year by a a Gas Safe registered engineer. Protect yourself from the dangers by following these simple steps: -       Only use a Gas Safe registered engineer to fit, fix or service your appliances -       Get your gas appliances regularly serviced and safety checked every year. Set a reminder so you don’t forget at www.staygassafe.co.uk -       Fit an audible carbon monoxide alarm -       Check for warning signs such as lazy yellow flames or black marks or stains around the appliance. -       Know the six main signs and symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning – headaches, dizziness, nausea, breathlessness, collapse and loss of consciousness. Landlord Certificates Ltd has made its pledge and is offering support by giving away a FREE Gas Safety Certificate and Kidde CO Alarm with every Boiler Service purchased.
